Do I need Planning Permission?
Not usually, but this does depend on each specific site – for instance if you want to put in plumbing, heating sources other than electric or are in a conservation area. We can advise you on this, or you can get an idea of the checklist HERE
If you do need PP, we’ll help you through this process (extra fees will apply).
Do prices include delivery?
Prices shown on this website include VAT, but no, delivery is not included in the shown prices. There is a standard fee of £250 for delivery, plus an additional per-mile charge for deliveries over 60miles. This prices includes us building it for you once it gets there.
Construction normally takes a day, assuming we have a prepared, more-or-less level site to work on. If you don’t have this, fear not – its relatively easy to do yourself (if you want to save money), or we can do it for you. Ground works are charged at £125 per half day, not inclusive of any materials. We can advise you of how long this will take for your site – normally we can get it ready in under a day, and we’ll leave it nice and tidy once we’re done!
I’d like something not on the list, can you build it?
Absolutely, we love a new design project. We can create something based on one of our standard design frameworks, or provide you with something completely unique. We apply the same panel build, low impact ethos to all our projects, but the outcome can be almost anything you want.
Always wanted a Gentleman’s folly? A boathouse-come-fishing hut? A library-come-viewing turret down at the edge of the woods, complete with leather armchair and roaring fire? Give us a call, we’d love to make it for you!
Are Hutte’s Guaranteed & How long will it last?
Our Huttes are guaranteed for 2 years, but are built to last a long long time, given a little TLC now and then. The larch we use for the frame and cladding has an estimated lifespan of 50 years, even when its untreated! All we ask is you keep vegitation clear of the edges (bushes and long grass etc stop the air getting in underneath, which allows the larch to dry off when it gets wet), repaint the windows every 5-10 years, and keep the gutters clean. Thats it!
How does the payment system work
We need a 60% deposit of the total cost to pay for materials upfront from our suppliers, and we settle the rest once its delivered and you are happy with the results.
How long till I get my Hutte?
Estimated time for a single order is around 4-6 weeks from deposit clearing. As each is carefully made by our fair hands, we run a workshop calander schedule to give each Hutte the time and care it truly deserves. At times, if we are fully booked on builds, we may ask you to wait a little longer – but wont take a penny from you until we are ready to start building. Do you discount for multiple orders?
Of course. If you are after multiple huts, give us a call and discuss your requirements – we will give you a total cost for the site/sites in question that will include savings on build-time, logistics and site-specific requirements.
